That's a temporary pre-authorisation hold. The pump asks your bank to approve up to a set amount to make sure your card works. After you finish filling up, you only pay for what you actually bought — the extra amount is released later by your bank. If you want to avoid this, pay inside at the till instead of paying at the pump.
